What genre/s of music will your magazine cover?
For my magazine, I will develop my ideas around the genres; RnB and Hip Hop. I've chosen to do these two genres as they are some of the biggest in the world and are so closely related and have many links with the artists that fall into these categories.

Who is the target audience? How old are they? Where do they live? What are their interests? 
My magazine should appeal to both males and females. the selected age group I want to appeal to is 15-35. my target audience will be worldwide but mainly in the U.S and UK as that is where most of they artists are based or are from.

What is the name of the magazine? Why? Connotations? 
Names I have come up with include the following:

• The Beat - It links in music and is important when creating songs for the RnB genre as the beat gives the song potential to do well.
• Fo' Real - It is a typical term used in the two genres I've chosen to do and can represent the 'true artist'.
• Fuse - It is a short and catchy word and it 'fuses' the two genres together as they are already closely connected through their artists and target audience. 

What will your masthead look like? Font ideas? 

My font should be quite bold and thick and really stand out. It needs to be eye catching to catch the eye of a potential buyer. 

What will be the focal image for you front cover and why?

My focal image will be of an 'artist' (friend to be my model). The artist will have to be looking at the camera (at the audience) to conform to the general conventions of photography in a magazine. 

What photography will be required? Shot/Angle/Composition?

I will need to take photographs of model artists for my front page, contents page and double page spread. Photos taken will be eye level, high/low angle and mid-shots and close ups.

What mise en scene will be required?

I will be taking some interior and exterior photographs. The artist will need to be wearing clothes that are trendy and look very fresh faced and 'swagged out'. In terms of lighting, I will darken the background and brighten the artist (focus) so more attention will be drawn towards them. I will also need to include props such as instruments.

What will be your sell lines?

My sell lines will focus on other artists in the industry and have their name in capital letters so it draws attention to a potential buyer. Sell lines will also be short and snappy so it wont be too boring and entice the customer to purchase the magazine. 

What items and feature articles would you need on your contents page?

Articles on my contents page will be about new singles, albums and any tours that will be occurring. 

What is the focus of your double page spread?

My double page spread will be an article on a new artist welcomed into the music industry who has just reached a lot of success with his/her new single. It will include information on the artist and quotes from an interview.

What photography will be required for the double page spread? 

Photos taken will be of the artist and things that surround them. I will take close-ups/mid-shots/long-shots depending of placement of where the picture will go with the text. I will definitely take eye level shots and perhaps a low angle shot.
